“Presto!” should not be confused with “pesto,” but a joke was posted on Twitter by FP Lamb on February 10, 2014:
 
“I’ve started using food in my magic act. I start by crushing garlic, basil,pine nuts &blend them with grated parmesan &olive oil. Hey Pesto!”
 
The joke became popular on Twitter on February 11, 2014. Authorship of the joke is uncertain; none of the tweets credit anyone.

I’ve recently started using food in my magic act.
I start by crushing garlic, basil and pine nuts and then I blend them together with grated parmesan and olive oil.
