“I got mood poisoning. Must have been something I hate” (or “I got mood poisoning at work. It must be something I hate”)—a pun on “food poisoning” and “something I ate”—is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images.
 
In the five-hour television miniseries Wild Palms, on the episode “The Floating World” that aired on May 17, 1993, Eli Levitt (played by David Warner) said:
   
“Small case of mood poisoning. Must have been something I hate.”
   
“I’ve got mood poisoning. I’t must be something I hate” was posted on the newsgroup comp.sys.amiga.games on July 9, 1993. “I’ve got mood poisoning. It must be something that I hate” is from the song “You and Me and the Devil Makes 3” by Marilyn Manson, on the album Eat Me, Drink Me (2007). “I got mood poisoning…Must have been something i hate…” was posted on Twitter by billy chapata on October 18, 2011.

“I’m staying home today. I have mood poisoning” is a similar saying.
