Jalapiña (drink)

“Jala-Piña Cocktail” is cited from at least 2006 and usually contains a pineapple, silver tequila, fresh lime juice, sugar, a small jalapeño, ice and pineapple wedges.

Juicebox in Austin, TX, has a non-alcoholic “jalapiña” drink of pineapple, jalapeño and lime—without the tequila.

my current favourite - Jala-Piña from a nearby Mexican place.
tequila, pineapple with jalapeño. i’m usually not fond of pineapple based drinks, but the jalapeño adds an interesting touch. not very sweet either.

Recipe: Jala-Piña Cocktail
1/2 L. silver tequila, 100 percent agave
3 jalapenos
best-quality pineapple juice

Slice the jalapenos and combine with the tequila in a mason jar or swivel-top bottle. Let it steep for 3 days.
To make one cocktail, combine 3 oz. tequila, 2 oz. pineapple juice and 3 dashes of bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well and pour in a martini glass.
