Journey Always Late or Just Arrives Late (Japan Airlines or JAL backronymic nickname)

Japan Airlines (JAL) was founded in 1953 and is the flag carrier of Japan. JAL was given the backronymic (back acronym) of “Joke About Life” in 1992, “Just About Late” and “Japan’s Always Late” in September 1993, and “Journey Always Late” in February 1994.

JAL has been nicknamed “Just Arrived Late” in 1999 and “Just Arrives Late” in 2011.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has the similar nickname of “Plane Always Late.”

Wikipedia: Japan Airlines
Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (JAL) (日本航空株式会社 Nihon Kōkū Kabushiki-gaisha?, TYO: 9201), is an airline headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, Japan. It is the flag carrier of Japan and its main hubs are Tokyo’s Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport), as well as Nagoya’s Chūbu Centrair International Airport and Osaka’s Kansai International Airport. The airline and four of its subsidiaries (J-Air, JAL Express, JALways, and Japan Transocean Air) are members of the Oneworld airline alliance.
JAL was established in 1951 and became the national airline of Japan in 1953. After over three decades of service and expansion, the airline was fully privatized in 1987. In 2002, the airline merged with Japan Air System, Japan’s third-largest airline and became the sixth largest airline in the world by passengers carried.

NRT-LHR on ANA in First Class (Wow!)

Thanks mjm, ANA is wonderful. My first experience with them was nearly 15 yrs ago on a domestic flight from NRT to Kyoto (love the views of Mt Fuji) and even this, though nothing like FC International was quite good! They have really put a squeeze on JAL (Just Arrived Late).
