“A father carries pictures where his money used to be”

“A father carries pictures where his money used to be” is a jocular line of unknown authorship. “A father is someone who carries his children’s pictures where his money used to be” was cited in a 1969 newspaper column as “overheard.” “Father—someone who carries pictures where his money used to be” was published in many newspapers in 1974 as “Today’s Chuckle.”
