"Lazy rule: If you can’t reach it, you don’t need it” (or “Lazy rule: Can’t reach it, don’t need it") is a jocular one-line saying that has been printed on many images. “New life rule: If I can’t reach it from my bed, I don’t need it” was posted on Twitter on November 21, 2009. “If I can’t reach it, I don’t need it” was posted on Twitter on April 22, 2011.
The expression went viral in May 2011. “NEW RULE: Can’t reach it, don’t need it. Forget the remote” was posted on Twitter on May 4, 2011. “Lazy Rule #34: Can’t reach it. Don’t need it” was posted on Twitter on May 5, 2011.
“Lazy rule: If ice falls, kick it under the fridge” is another “lazy rule.”
