“Liberalism is a mental disorder”

Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder: Savage Solutions is the title of a 2005 book by conservative talk show host Michael Savage. The saying has appeared on bumper stickers, T-shirts, and tea party signs.

Savage has used his catchphrase “Liberalism is a mental disorder” by at least 2002—three years before the book’s publication. Savage believes that liberalism is an obviously unsound political philosophy, and that anyone who believes in such positions must not understand their flawed arguments. Variants of the phrase include “Liberalism is a mental disease” and “Liberalism is a mental illness.” The phrase has been popularized beyond its catchphrase use in Michael Savage’s talk radio show and is used in many political blogs.

Wikipedia: Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder
Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder: Savage Solutions is the twentieth book written by conservative radio personality Michael Savage.

In the book, Michael Savage accuses liberals and leftists of making political moves which undermine the basic tenets of American life including marriage, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Ten Commandments. One chapter is dedicated to his criticisms of radical Islam, which he calls “Islamofascism”. In each chapter is a “Savage Spotlight of Truth” that purports to cast a light on how liberals spread their political agenda.

Liberalism is a Mental Disorder stayed on the Top 10 New York Times best-seller list for several months after its release on April 12, 2005.

Wikipedia: Michael Savage (commentator)
Michael Alan Weinerrn March 31, 1942), better known by his pseudonym Michael Savage, is an American radio host, author, and political commentator. He is the host of The Savage Nation, a nationally-syndicated talk show that airs throughout the United States on Talk Radio Network. The Savage Nation has a very large audience, ranging from 8 to 10 million listeners on 350 stations across United States, making his show the third largest radio talk show in the country. He holds master’s degrees in medical botany and medical anthropology and he earned a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, in nutritional ethnomedicine. As Michael Weiner, he has written books on herbal medicine and homeopathy. As Michael Savage, he has written four New York Times-bestselling political books.

Savage has summarized his political philosophy in three words: borders, language, and culture. Some, including Savage himself, have characterized his views as Conservative nationalism, while others have characterized them as “fostering extremism or hatred”. He outspokenly opposes illegal immigration to the United States, supports the English-only movement and argues that Liberalism is degrading American culture. Although his radio delivery is usually characterized as confrontational and politically themed, some of his show involves ruminating on topics such as medicine, nutrition, literature, history, theology, philosophy, culture (food, books, movies), and personal anecdotes.

Shut this atrocity up. Mark Dayton is a human atrocity for saying this, but he’s really just a little cog in the wheel of Liberalism. I used to say that Liberalism is a mental disorder. I don’t think it’s a mental disorder. Nope. I think it’s far worse than that. I think this kind of Liberalism is suicidal behavior. An act of suicidal behavior.
