“does not the existence of a “lukewarm” temperature logically imply the existence of matthewwarm, markwarm, and johnwarm temperatures as well” was posted on Twitter by Gerry Canavan on April 23, 2019. “Lukewarm implies the existence of Matthewarm, Markwarm, and Johnwarm” was posted on Twitter by Natasha Backlin on October 27, 2020. “Lukewarm implies the existence of matthewwarm, markwarm, and johnwarm” was posted on Twitter by bornloser tetcon on March 10, 2021.

InterestingSidenote: I’d like to know why we have ‘lukewarm’, and not’markwarm’, ‘matthewwarm’ or ‘johnwarm’, or how, if they exist, do they relate?

Just had a nice lukewarm bath. Why is it called lukewarm, I’m wondering, and not Matthewwarm or Markwarm or Johnwarm?

Spouse and I long ago decided that Matthewwarm = piping hot, Markwarm = the good hot (eg perfect drinking temp for tea), Lukewarm = tepid, Johnwarm = cold.
