“Men are like floor tiles” (joke)

“Men are like floor tiles. If you lay them right the first time, you can walk all over them for years” is a jocular line that has been printed on many images. “What do ceramic tile and men have in common? If you lay them right the first time, you can walk on them for life!” was posted on the newsgroup rec.humor on April 1, 1994.

Like a male-friend of mine once said, “women are like floor-tiles, lay them right the first time and you can walk on them for years”. Or, like a female-friend of mine once said, “men are like floor-tiles, lay them right the first time and you can walk on them for years.” All a matter of perspective, I guess.

When I try to see how our photos are going, he coldly dismisses me - “I’ll be with you in a moment’ - so I stand awkwardly in the kitchen, reading fridge magnets (“Men are like floor tiles; lay them right the first time and you can walk all over them for years”).
