“Muscles are torn in the gym, fed in the kitchen and built in bed”

“Muscles are torn in the gym, fed in the kitchen and built in bed” is a workout saying that has been printed on several posters. The saying was cited on Twitter on October 3, 2012.

The saying is often used to emphasize the last part (“built in bed”). People often forget the importance of rest in their training.

As coaches at CFV, we love seeing you awesome beasts roll in every day for a workout. We are however, quietly mindful of how often we see you. We here about issues relating to soreness, that “niggling” shoulder injury or low energy levels and think to ourselves; “when did they last have a rest day?”
