“My friend can’t afford to pay his water bill anymore. So I sent him a card, “Get well soon’”

A “get-well card” is usually a card to encourage someone to “get well” after an illness. It’s not a card encouraging someone to get a water well, but there are jokes.

“I went three months without paying my water bill. I got a card from the water company that said, ‘Get Well soon’” was posted on Twitter on January 28, 2014, “My friend forgot to pay her water bill so I sent her a get well soon card.  #joke #pun” was posted on Twitter on March 25, 2015.

Wikipedia: Get-well card
A get-well card is a greeting card which is sent to someone when they are ill. Their use in the case of chronic and terminal illness is problematic because the patient may not be expected to recover but they may still offer comfort to the invalid.
