“Never make eye contact while eating a banana” is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images. Eating a banana often represents the sex act of fellatio.
 
“I find it awkward to make eye contact with someone while eating a banana” was posted on Twitter on December 12, 2007. The “Banana Rule” (“No employee should look at another employee while either employee is eating a banana”) was entered in the Urban Dictionary on February 12, 2009.
   
“Never make eye contact while eating a banana” was posted on Twitter on June 17, 2010. Several YouTube videos of women eating bananas made the concept viral in 2012 and 2013.
 
Other risqué banana jokes include “Is that a banana in your pants or are you just happy to see me?,” “The broccoli says, ‘I look like a small tree’ …” and “You want men to stop staring at your boobs? Eat a banana.”
