“Never run a fruit stand in an action movie”

An action movie cliché is the car chase, and a car always seems to drive into a fruit stand on the sidewalk.

Apart from the above, my major gripe is with the pointless car chase, in which every car chase cliche is rehearsed (“Fruit Stand!” Siskel and Ebert could cry; “Parking Meters!” I’d add.)

The two action visual cliches I can’t stand are: a) the obligatory car-chase-into-the-fruit-stand; and b) the obligatory slow-motion-leap-out-of-the-burning-building.

@looneytunes—I’ve seen that music gimmick at least 10 times.  It’s like the knocking over the fruit stand in the action movie.

Fruit stand operators must really hate high speed pursuits
I kind of wonder what happens to these miserable individuals in action movies, don’t you?
