“New restaurant opening in town called The Manhattan Project. It’s a fusion restaurant”

Fusion cuisine has nothing to do with nuclear fusion, but there are jokes.

“My wife and I’s friend booked us a table at a restaurant called The Manhattan Project and I’M the bad guy for asking if it’s a fusion restaurant?  That’s a 10/10 joke” was posted on Twitter by Pete Stegemeyer on March 18, 2022 and went viral (240,000 likes). “New restaurant opening in town called The Manhattan Project. It’s a fusion restaurant” was posted on Twitter by “Drinking but mostly sober” on March 22, 2022. “Went to a restaurant called the Manhattan Project. It was not an Asian fusion restaurant. 1 Star” was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes on June 20, 2022.

Wikipedia: Manhattan Project
The Manhattan Project was a research and development undertaking during World War II that produced the first nuclear weapons. It was led by the United States with the support of the United Kingdom and Canada. From 1942 to 1946, the project was under the direction of Major General Leslie Groves of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Nuclear physicist Robert Oppenheimer was the director of the Los Alamos Laboratory that designed the actual bombs. The Army component of the project was designated the Manhattan District as its first headquarters were in Manhattan; the placename gradually superseded the official codename, Development of Substitute Materials, for the entire project.

Wikipedia: Fusion cuisine
Fusion cuisine is cuisine that combines elements of different culinary traditions that originate from different countries, regions, or cultures. They can occur naturally and become aspects of culturally relevant cuisines, or they can be part of the post-1970s movement for contemporary restaurant innovations.

As someone who worked, briefly, at @LosAlamosNatLab, I give this 9/10.
Technically, if this restaurant we鈥檙e mirroring the weapons of the Manhattan project, it would be a fission restaurant, but later would develop into a fusion restaurant.

Doesn鈥檛 make sense anyway. The Manhattan project developed fission, not fusion. You should鈥檝e asked if the restaurant served fission chips 馃憤

He’s the bad guy because the Manhattan Project was about fission, not fusion.
However, he should have asked if the restaurant allowed split checks.
