The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league, headquartered in New York City. The NFL has been dubbed “No Fan Left” or “No Fans Left” by those who do not like the league. “No Fan(s) Left” was popularized in the fall of 2017, when many fans were angered when some NFL players kneeled during the national anthem.
 
“NFL=No fans left” was printed in the Daily Record (Morristown, NJ) on December 8, 1983. “NFL = No Fans Left?” was posted on the newsgroup rec.sport.football.pro on November 9, 1995. “@NFLCommish is ruining this league.  Soon NFL will stand for No Fans Left. #NFL #GoodellMustGo #Steelers” was posted on Twitter on October 20, 2010. “The NFL will have to change its name to No Fans Left if they don’t start next season on time. #nofansleft #NFL” was posted on Twitter on March 4, 2011.

The protests began in the National Football League (NFL) after San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick sat and later kneeled during the anthem, as opposed to the tradition of standing, before his team’s preseason games of 2016. Throughout the 2016 season, members of various NFL and other sports teams have engaged in similar silent protests. On September 24, 2017, the NFL protests became more widespread when over 200 players sat or kneeled in response to Donald Trump’s calling for owners to fire the protesting players.

I have faithfully watched NFL football games every week for as long as I can remember. But I won’t be watching this week. And I don’t think I iwll watch any more games this year. And I am sure when next season rolls around I won’t want to watch then either. I can no longer look at the NFL with any respect. As you might of guessed, all of this anger is because of the team formerly known as the Cleveland Browns. I have been a fan, a season ticket holder, a member of the dog pound and 1 of 70,000 true fans that would show up each week to watch our beloved Browns. But now, I have no team to root for so I might as well not even be a fan at all.

To date, I haven’t said much about the pro football matter. The reason is I am hopelessly addicted to the Green Bay Packers; have been since 1968. I’m sorry, there just isn’t anything I can do about it – I’m weak.
 
Unfortunately, the Packers play in the National Football League. NFL for short. Also, short for “No Fans Left.” The league is doing everything humanly possible to drive guys like me away, and I wonder if they haven’t gone so far, they won’t find their way back
