Nookies (deep-fried chocolate chip cookies)

Deep-fried chocolate chip cookie dough was a hit at the 2007 State Fair of Texas, although deep-fried cookies had been served at other state fairs before this time. In 2008, Torchy’s Tacos of Austin, Texas, introduced “Little Nookies’—deep-fried chocolate chip cookies. It remains to be seen if the “nookies” name for this food item catches on.

After the tacos I was stuffed. Fletcher was determined to keep going though. He tried the dessert nookies - battered and deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough dusted with powdered sugar. No wonder Texas is known for it’s overweight population! We have food like this to eat!
