The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an an intergovernmental military alliance between 30 European and North American countries. During the 1999 NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, NATO acquired a new nickname—“North American Terrorist Organization.”

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO, /ˈneɪtoʊ/; French: Organisation du traité de l’Atlantique nord, OTAN), also called the North Atlantic Alliance, is an intergovernmental military alliance between 30 European and North American countries.
