“Nurses can really take the pressure”

"Nurses can (really) take the pressure” is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying means that nurses can take the pressure of their job—and they can also take a person’s blood pressure.

“Nurses Can Really Take the Pressure” was printed in Newsday (Long Island, NY) on September 18, 1986. “Nurses can take the pressure” was printed in the book The Soul of the Caring Nurse: Stories and Resources for Revitalizing Professional Passion (2004) by Linda Gambee Henry and James Douglas Henry.
