“Pop-Tarts imply the existence of Mom-Tarts”

Pop-Tarts is a brand of toaster pastries. There are no “Mom-Tarts,” but this was suggested in the newsgroup alt.sexual.abuse.recovery on July 27, 1994.

“Pop-Tarts have been around since 1964 and I say it’s time for Mom-Tarts!” was posted on Twitter by Scott WeinBoo! on January 30, 2019. “Poptarts imply the existence of Momtarts” was posted on Twitter by Groo The Guru on May 9, 2019. “Pop-tarts imply the existence of Mom-tarts, and I think I’ve defined half the women on Twitter” was posted on Twitter by mandala.. on January 8, 2020.

“Why are there poptarts but no momtarts? Because of the pastryarchy” was posted on Reddit—Jokes on October 25, 2021. “Pastryarchy” is a portmanteau of “pastry” and “patriarchy.” “What do you call a bakery staffed entirely by men?”/“A pastryarchy” is a related riddle.

Wikipedia: Pop-Tarts
Pop-Tarts is a brand of toaster pastries that the Kellogg Company introduced in 1964. Pop-Tarts have a sugary filling sealed inside two layers of thin, rectangular pastry crust. Most varieties are also frosted. Although sold pre-cooked, they are designed to be warmed inside a toaster or microwave oven.
