“Runner’s Hi - When joggers wave to each other”

“Runner’s high” is not the same as “runner’s hi,” but there are jokes.

“Runner’s Hi! :‘That’s why people wave to each other, because it makes them belong’” was posted on Twitter by Christine Kalmer on December 22, 2013. “on the trails, i always wave to other runners.  that’s the “runners hi” everyone talks about” was posted on Twitter by Dr. Laugh-quist on October 20, 2017. “Runner’s Hi - When joggers wave to each other” was posted on Twitter by ʜᴇɴɴɪɴɢ on January 9, 2018.

Wikipedia: Neurobiological effects of physical exercise
The neurobiological effects of physical exercise are numerous and involve a wide range of interrelated effects on brain structure, brain function, and cognition. A large body of research in humans has demonstrated that consistent aerobic exercise (e.g., 30 minutes every day) induces persistent improvements in certain cognitive functions, healthy alterations in gene expression in the brain, and beneficial forms of neuroplasticity and behavioral plasticity; some of these long-term effects include: increased neuron growth, increased neurological activity (e.g., c-Fos and BDNF signaling),

Continuous exercise can produce a transient state of euphoria – a positively-valenced affective state involving the experience of pleasure and feelings of profound contentment, elation, and well-being – which is colloquially known as a “runner’s high” in distance running or a “rower’s high” in rowing.

I’ve been running for half a decade and I can finally say I’ve experienced the fabled feeling everyone talks about. 4 miles in, i look up and see a man wave at me. The Runner’s Hi.

Well your body releasing endorphins could definitely be the reason you might feel a runners “high.” But, I thought a runners hi was the courtesy wave that all runners give when you pass them 😂 Could be wrong idk

Waving at joggers while I have a drink on my balcony is my version of a runner’s hi.

I wonder…🤔 Maybe it’s “runner’s hi” - You see a runner & wave “hi”. 😁

Until today, I had always thought runners ran to chase that ‘Runner’s Hi.’ They ran and jogged so they could wave to each other in public and I always thought that was very nice but you could just do that at Walgreen’s you know?
