“Live, from New York! It’s Saturday Night!” (Saturday Night Live)
In 1975, sportscaster Howard Cosell attempted to revive the glory that was the Ed Sullivan Show by occupying that same Ed Sullivan theater (on Big Apple Corner) with a new ABC show. It was called "Saturday Night Live," but it died quickly.

An NBC variety show, also called "Saturday Night Live," began later that year and still broadcasts. It's frequently called just "SNL." For the early opening sketches, "Not Ready For Prime Time Player" Chevy Chase would take a fall, then suddenly get up and declare, "Live, from New York! It's Saturday Night!"

27 August 1975, New York Times, pg. 63:
For the premier of ABC's Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell, the Long Lines Department and its ad agency N. W. Ayer ABH International, have put together a videotaped 30-second spot with former Boston Celtic star, Bill Russell, and Ronald M. Watts, Russell's pal, playing golf and kidding about Cosell.
