“She made French toast and got her tongue caught in the toaster”

French toast has nothing to do with French kissing, but New York-based stand-up comedian Rodney Dangerfield (1921-2004) said on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson in 1980:

“She was a wild girl. Very wild. You kiddin’? She made me French toast. Her tongue got caught in the toaster.”

Dangerfield’s French toast joke has been included in several quotations collections.

Wikipedia: Rodney Dangerfield
Rodney Dangerfield (born Jacob Cohen, November 22, 1921 – October 5, 2004) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer and screenwriter known for the catchphrase “I don’t get no respect!” and his monologues on that theme. He is also remembered for his 1980s film roles, especially in Easy Money, Caddyshack, and Back to School.
