“Someday is not a day of the week”

“Someday is not a day of the week” is a saying that has been printed on many posters. If something is schedule to be completed “someday,” that often means “never.”

“The first step in achieving your goals is to recognize that ‘someday’ is not a day of the week” was said by Ed Bliss in his audiobook, Getting Things Done (1978). American author Janet Dailey (1944-2013) is often incorrectly credited with the saying. Denise Brennan-Nelson, author of Someday Is Not a Day of the Week (2005), is also frequently (and incorrectly) credited with originating the saying.
