The saying probably originated in a tweet by @littlelady899, an account that has since been deleted. “Sometimes I wonder if all this is happening because I didn’t forward that message to 10 people” was posted on Twitter by Zeeman Memon on March 9, 2015.
 
The saying became newly popular during the 2019-20 coronavirus outbreak. “Sometimes I wonder if all of this is happening because I didn’t forward that message to 10 other people 🤔” was posted on Twitter by Hear Me Roar on March 30, 2020.
