Spokeshole (spokesman/spokesperson + asshole)

“Spokeshole” or “spokes-hole” (spokesman/spokesperson + asshole) is a term used by those who believe that a spokesperson is making nonsensical, overly subservient points. The “spokeshole” term is often directed at the White House Press Secretary, the spokesperson for the executive branch of government.

“Spokeshole” has been cited in print since at least 2000. Other nicknames for a spokesman/spokesperson include “spokes-hack,” “spokes-idiot,” “spokes-liar” and “spokes-tool.”

Word of the day: Spokeshole
I’d never heard of the word until today. I conferred with the Googleteer, he said it had 674 hits. I think it’s coming on strong.
