The city of Victoria, Texas (county seat of Victoria County) is centrally located from Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, and San Antonio. The city/county has been called the “South Texas Crossroads” (or “Crossroads of South Texas” or “Crossroads of the Coastal Bend”) since at least the 1970s.

Victoria, Texas, is located 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico and is within a two-hour drive of Corpus Christi, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. VICTORIA COUNTY. Victoria County (O-18) is located in southeastern Texas on the Coastal Plain about midway between the southern and eastern extremities of the Texas Gulf Coast. Victoria, the county’s largest town, is the county seat. There roads converge 120 miles from Houston, 102 miles from San Antonio, 110 miles from Austin, and 75 miles from Corpus Christi; hence the town’s nickname, the “crossroads of South Texas.”
