“Sun’s out, guns out”

“Sun’s out, guns out” is a popular saying that has been printed on many shirts. “Gun” is slang for “biceps.” When the summer sun is out, it’s time to get the “guns” out—that is, to show off one’s muscles.

“Sun’s out guns out” was entered in the Urban Dictionary in 2006. The saying is also sometimes interpreted that summer days are a time period of high gun violence.

“Sun’s out, buns out” is a related saying.

Urban Dictionary
sun’s out guns out
When the winter is finally over and it is just starting to get warm, you wear your short sleeve polo shirts to work rather than a long sleeve. This particularly applies to musclehead italians from the tri-state area who have been dying to show off their bi’s and tri’s all winter.
-“hey Paul, nice shirt-short sleeves already??”
-“yep. sun’s out guns out”
-“but Paul, it’s mid April?”
-what do you mean???

NE Seeding and trash talk

Frankly, I’m a little disappointed with people’s commitment to trash talking, blind speculation and unrequested opinions i.e. that on which RSD was based.

Anyone want to take a crack at NE seedings and predictions? Will GOAT come back to take out Metal this year? Will Metal peak now and finally transcend their cross-Charles curse? Will PoNY sneak the NY ultimate scene back to where it belongs at naty’s? Did Middlebury really get 6th in their section and still make regionals? Most importantly, will the Gunslingers truly be “Guns out” as long as the “Sun’s out?”

Inquiring minds want to know.

“Nice day today, perfect to have your guns out.” Ares cocks his head and looks at Nikoli as if he has lost his mind.

“Pardon?” Ares asks gruffly.

“You know, your guns. Like, sun’s out, guns out?” he says and squeezes his bicep. Ares looks forlorn and I start to chuckle.

“Brother, he’s talkin’ ‘bout having your muscles out, like in a beater shirt or sumthin’.”

The summer’s sun comes with a slight sense of dread. That old adage is often repeated, “Sun’s out, guns out.” This is the season where the murder rate rises.
