“Cinnamon rolls” have been jokingly referred to as “synonym rolls” since at least the 1990s. “Made some synonym rolls” was a popular tweet on July 9, 2014.
   
“Synonym rolls…just like grammar used to make” (a pun version of “cinnamon rolls…just like grandma used to make”) was cited on Twitter on September 15, 2014 and quickly went viral. The joke expression was made into a popular GIF.
 
Other “synonym rolls” jokes include “I made some synonym rolls. They all came out looking different, but they taste the same,” “I made some synonym rolls. They’re tasty, delicious, mouthwatering, delectable,” “Order synonym rolls. They have fewer calories than cinnamon rolls and taste the same” and “What does a thesaurus eat for breakfast?”/“Synonym rolls.”

Here is a “word sum” expression that forms a word by adding and subtracting the letters of other words:
