“The best thing about Austin is that it’s so close to Texas”

Austin is the capital of Texas. Austin residents usually vote Democratic (blue), while the rest of Texas votes Republican (red). Austin has been called the “blueberry in the tomato soup.”

“The good thing about Austin is that it’s so #### close to Texas” is a jocular line that was cited in 2003. “One of the nice things about Austin is that it is so close to Texas” was posted on the newsgroup rec.outdoors.rv-travel on September 5, 2009. “Austin’s nice because it’s so close to Texas” was posted on Twitter on May 13, 2010.

Wikipedia: Austin, Texas
Austin is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County. Austin is the 11th-most populated city in the U.S and the 4th-most populated city in Texas.

I heard that somewhere and it pretty much sums up Austin in relation to the rest of the state.

As the locals say, one of the nice things about Austin is that it is so close to Texas. You can see Texas in the distance in every direction.
