Is the practice of kicking ice cubes under the refrigerator related to the sport of curling? “Dropped an icecube & managed to skillfully guide it under the fridge using my toes. Who owns a broom and wants to be my Curling partner?” was posted on Twitter by Momma Schu-lew on February 16, 2014. “i actually do a form of curling ...called can i get the ice cube under the fridge in one kick…or will the crumbs in the way slow it down..” was posted on Twitter by carnal poet on January 16, 2015.

“I kicked some dropped ice cubes under the refrigerator. It’s now water under the fridge” and “Lazy rule: If ice falls, kick it under the fridge” are related jokes.

Wikipedia: Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called rocks, across the ice curling sheet toward the house, a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two.
