“The junk drawer in now called the mask drawer”

The 2020 COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic resulted in many requirements to wear face masks. The junk drawer in people’s kitchens became a mask drawer.
   
“We have moved on from having a junk drawer to now having a mask drawer” was posted on Twitter by Stacey Hood on May 24, 2020. “That ‘Junk Drawer’ is now my ‘Mask Drawer’” was posted on Facebook by TeQuilla Williams Holloway on July 9, 2020. “The junk drawer in now called the mask drawer” was posted on Twitter by Marc D’Amelio on August 11, 2020.
   
“Thanks to Covid, my glove box is now my mask box” is a similar saying.
