Like the fabled saying about New York, the oilfield never sleeps and when you wake up in the morning to a warm room, spare a thought for the thousands of people working away from their loved ones, sometimes in very remote locations and harsh conditions

There’s an old saying in the oilfield known by most rig hands, roughnecks and roustabouts. “The oilfield never sleeps.”
Above, a 1934 plaque from the Big Apple Night Club at West 135th Street and Seventh Avenue in Harlem. Discarded as trash in 2006. Now a Popeyes fast food restaurant on Google Maps.
