A-E-I-O-U-Y are the English vowels, in order. There are several English words that use all vowels in alphabetical order, such as “facetiously.”

“‘I know a word which uses all six vowels, including ‘y,’ in alphabetical order’ said Tom facetiously” was posted on the newsgroup soc.org.freemasonry on November 13, 2005. This is also an example of a Tom Swifty.
