“No sense in being pessimistic. It wouldn’t work anyway” is a saying that has been printed on many images. The saying appeared in the 1980s and 1990s and has been credited to authors Cathie Linz and Price Pritchett, but authorship is unknown.
   
“NO SENSE BEING PESSIMISTIC IT WOULDN’T WORK ANYWAY” was printed in the book The Greatest Direct Mail Sales Letters of All Time:
Why they succeed, how they’re created, how you can create great sales letters too! (1986) by Richard S. Hodgson. “No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn’t work anyway” was posted on the newsgroup sci.electronics on October 10, 1992. “No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn’t work anyway” was posted on the newsgroup comp.os.os2.apps on March 15, 1993.
   
“There’s no point in being pessimistic—it wouldn’t work anyway” was printed in the Green Bay (WI) Press-Gazette on April 15, 1995. “There is no point in being pessimistic—it wouldn’t work anyway” was printed in the book Who Said That???? (2001) by Rick Baker. “There is no point in being pessimistic. It won’t work anyway.  ANONYMOUS” was printed in the book The Tarot According to You: A Workbook (2001) by Nancy Garen.
   
“To Lulu, it meant wearing her ‘No Sense in Being Pessimistic. It Wouldn’t Work Anyway’ tank top and baggy black pants with metal studs on the pockets” was printed in the book Bad Girls Don’t (2006) by Cathie Linz. “I love this one… ‘No sense in being pessimistic. It wouldn’t work anyway.’ -Cathie Linz” was posted on Twitter by Coyote on August 30, 2012.
