Plane Always Late (Philippine Airlines or PAL backronymic nickname)

Philippine Airlines (PAL) was founded in 1941 and is the flag carrier of the Philippines. PAL has been given the backronymic (back acronym) nickname of “Plane Always Late” since at least 1978.
 
Japan Airlines (JAL) has the similar nickname of “Journey Always Late.”

Over the last 25 years or so, Philippine Air Lines (PAL) has always been my carrier of choice and I have always had good service from them until now that is. I do not like to say things just because I had a bad experience but this time there were 250 of us who suffered the same bad experience
