“Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly” (gym sign)

"Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly” is a jocular gym sign that has been printed on many images. The message is that going to a gym can help to get rid of the fat, but it can’t solve everything.

“‘Are you tired of being fat and ugly? Then lose the fat and just be ugly’ haha great ad” was posted on Twitter by katie lloyd on June 29, 2011. “RT @raafi_taffy: just heard a radio commercial for a gym say ‘are u tired of being fat and ugly? So lose the fat and just be ugly!’” was posted on Twitter by Brandon Rye on July 8, 2011. “Just saw an advertising from a not so well known fitness gym, which said: ‘Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly!’” was posted on Twitter by Peter Mannion on July 27, 2011.

A sign that reads “Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly” to advertise a gym has caused a stir in Pell City, Alabama.

The sign was installed by Scott Campbell, owner of Pell City Gym, and has struck a nerve with some residents. However, he’s determined not to back down.

In 2013, I saw an ad for a gym in London that read, “Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly,” and I still think about it a lot.
