“Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly” is a jocular gym sign that has been printed on many images. The message is that going to a gym can help to get rid of the fat, but it can’t solve everything.

A sign that reads “Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly” to advertise a gym has caused a stir in Pell City, Alabama.
 
The sign was installed by Scott Campbell, owner of Pell City Gym, and has struck a nerve with some residents. However, he’s determined not to back down.

In 2013, I saw an ad for a gym in London that read, “Tired of being fat and ugly? Just be ugly,” and I still think about it a lot.
