It’s probable that the original version appeared on the Sickipedia website. “To avoid taking down my Xmas decorations….I am turning my house into a Chinese restaurant” was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes on December 28, 2020.

“To avoid taking down my Christmas lights, I’m making my house into an Italian restaurant” is a related saying.
