Toilet Paper of Record (New York Times nickname)

The New York (NY) Times has been called the ”(news)paper of record” since 1924. Some critics claim that the Times distorts facts and should not be relied upon as the true, accurate historical record of world events. The unflattering nickname “toilet paper of record” for the New York Times has been cited in print since at least 2001.

“I ran out of toilet paper, so have begun using old newspapers… The Times are rough” is a related joke.

Other Times nicknames include “Gray Lady,” “Jew York Times,”  “New Duranty Times,” “New York Crimes,” “New York Slimes,” “New York Times-Democrat,” “New Yuck Times,” “Old York Times” and “Pravda on the Hudson,”

The New York Times lamely responds to criticism that it ignored inauguration day protests, saying it had already covered election “irregularities.” The “paper of record” prefers to cover events that occur only in association with people in power, not the American people themselves

Is this the first of many articles? Is it the LA Times’ bid to become the go-to source on TraitorGate, now that the Paper of Record has become the Toilet Paper of Record? Holy crap, wouldn’t that be visionary.

New York Times, Toilet Paper of Record
The NY Times was wrong on Communist Russia, providing cover as “Uncle Joe” Stalin murdered millions. They were wrong on the intentions of rebel leader Fidel Castro, claiming he was not a communist. This allowed US support and money to flow to his movement that knocked over Fulgencio Batista, replacing one dictator with another.

SIUN,
Ah, the New York Times, the “Toilet Paper of Record”. as Gerald Celente calls it. Why even discuss the NYT? It is a completely useless institution and adds no value to the Democratic Republic. As for never-ending war on the world, change the dynamic of Republicrat rule in this country and the wars will eventually end……………
