“Twix have an endoskeleton and M&M’s have an exoskeleton”

“@mmschocolate have an exoskeleton, like an insect. @twix have an endoskeleton, like a human. @reeses cups have no skeleton, like a slug. Enjoy!” was posted on Twitter by Billy Goldfang on September 18, 2019. “Twix have an endoskeleton and M&M’s have an exoskeleton” was posted on Reddit—Showerthoughts on October 17, 2022.

Some people believe that the hard shells on M&M’s protect them, and that the “five-second rule” applies when they are dropped on the floor. (That is, food picked up within five seconds is OK to eat. This has often been shown to be a myth.)

“I’m firmly convinced that the hard candy shell on M&M’s make them exempt from the five second rule or any of its variants” was posted on Twitter by Matt Morrison on December 23, 2013. “M&M’s candy coating is an effective germ barrier that nullifies the five second rule” was posted on Twitter by His Royal Heinous on January 17, 2014. “the 5 second rule doesn’t apply to m&m’s because they have an exoskeleton” was posted on Twitter by “jess is probably birding” on April 16, 2020. “@nytimes: the five-second rule is an urban legend, followed more by men than women. Throw out the dropped M&M. http://nytimes.com/2016/09/20/science/five-second-rule.html” was posted on Twitter by Tony Wasserman on September 19, 2016.

Wikipedia: Twix
Twix is a caramel shortbread chocolate bar made by Mars, Inc., consisting of a biscuit applied with other confectionery toppings and coatings (most frequently caramel and milk chocolate). Twix are packaged with one, two or four bars in a wrapper.

Wikipedia: M&M’s
M&M’s (stylized as m&m’s) are multi-colored button-shaped chocolates, each of which has the letter “m” printed in lower case in white on one side, consisting of a candy shell surrounding a filling which varies depending upon the variety of M&M’s. The original candy has a semi-sweet chocolate filling which, upon introduction of other variations, was branded as the “plain, normal” variety.

Marcos had to describe an M&M and he said it had a hard outside like an exoskeleton. Haha dying.

M&M’s are just chocolate chips with an exoskeleton.
And you can easily buy better tasting chocolate chips.
