“Two immigrants order hot dogs. One asks, ‘What part did you get?‘“

A joke has two immigrants arrive in New York City. They both order hot dogs for the first time. One asks the other, “What part (of the dog) did you get?”

Authorship of the joke is unknown. It was cited on the newsgroup rec.humor on July 24, 1992, but probably is from at least the 1980s.

Potentially insulting (yet funny) story about eating dogs

This story reminds me of a joke my dad used to tell

These two foreigners are walking up the streets of New York. They just got off the boat and are really hungry. As they are walking up the street, one of them spots a sign that says ‘hot dogs’. He looks at his buddy and says, “I did not know they eat dogs here in America”. They go into the restaurant and tell the waiter, “Two dogs please”. The waiter brings them their hot dogs and upon seeing the wiener the one pokes his buddy and asks, “What part did you get?”.

I know it’s cornball but you’ll be telling it to all your friends.

Eat a Dog?

Two immigrated to America. On their first day off the boat, they were wandering around New York City seeing the sights. Noon came, and they were hungry. They spied a street vendor selling “Hot Dogs.”

One said to the other (shocked tone) “Do they eat dogs in America??”

“I don’t know!”

“Well, we’re going to be Americans, so we must do as they do.”

They approached the vendor. “Two hot dogs, please.”

The food was delivered in a pair of paper sacks. The two sat on a park bench to eat their lunch. One looked inside his sack, and asked his partner, “Which part of the dog did you get?”

HI.

Here’s a funny one.

Two Scottish nuns have just arrived to USA by boat and one says to the other, “I hear that the occupants of this country actually eat dogs” “Odd, “ Her companion replies “but if we shall live in America, we might as well do as the Americans do.” Nodding emphatically, the mother superior points to a hot dog vendor and they both walk towards it. “Two dogs, please” says one. The vendor is only too pleased to oblige and he wraps them both hot dogs in foil. Excited, the nuns hurry over to a bench and begin to unwrap their “dogs”.The mother superior is first to open hers, then, staring at it for a momment, leans over to the other nun and asks cautiosly: “What part did you get?”

Two Irish nuns are on a boat to the US, when the first nun says, “You know, I’ve heard they eat dogs in America.” “I’ve heard the same thing,” says the second. After some discussion, the two nuns decide that they will try some dog in order to start immersing themselves in American cultural customs. When they get off the boat, they find their way to a hot dog stand on the corner, ask for two dogs, and sit down to eat this new food. The first nun unwraps her tinfoil and blushes a deep red. “What is it?!” asks the second nun.

The first nun asks, “What part did you get?”

Hot Dogs (as told by my Granny)
Two older English ladies finally get to visit America. They decide they want to try some authentic American food for the first time. Edith says, “I’ve heard that hot dogs are about as American as it gets.” “Oh yeah?” says Mabel. “Sounds different, but I guess we should try it then.” So they go into a cafe and both of them order jumbo hot dogs. They sit down at a table, and Edith slowly unwraps hers and looks at it aghast. “ Oh dear, Mabel! What part of the dog did YOU get?”

Hot dogs
Two foreigners arrive in America for the first time, in New York City. They step out into the city and see a hot dog stand. One says to the other “wow - they eat dogs in America? Well I guess we should give it a try”. They each get a hot dog and sit down to eat. After a minute of just staring at his hot dog, one turns to the other and says “hey… what part did you get?”.

Two immigrants from Africa arrive in the United States and are discussing the difference between their country and the U.S
Two immigrants from Africa arrive in the United States and are discussing the difference between their country and the U.S. One of them mentions he’s heard that people in the U.S. eat dogs, and if they’re going to fit in, they better eat dogs as well. So they head to the nearest hot dog stand and order two ‘dogs.’ The first guy unwraps his, looks at it, and nervously looks at his friend.

“Which part did you get?”

Two Scottish nuns are travelling to the United States.
One of the sisters tells the other: ‘You know, in America, they eat dogs.’ Their plane lands in JFK and they take a cab to Manhattan. No sooner do they get settled in their convent than they take a walk. Sighting a hot-dog stand, they order two hot dogs. The first sister takes hers out of the wrapping, looks at it and asks the other nun: ‘What part did you get?’
