“Two penguins walk into a bar…” (bar joke)

“A guy walks into a bar...” is a typical form of what has been called the “bar joke.” A penguin version is:

“Two penguins walk into a bar, and the bartender says ‘Waddle it be, boys?’”

“Waddle it be, gentlemen?” was a photo caption in the Chicago (IL) Tribune on December 15, 1993. “185 Penguins walked into a bar. The Bartender said, “‘WADDLE it be?’” was posted on Twitter on November 14, 2014.

Although more accustomed to greeting humans, a doorman at Montreal’s Inter-Continental Hotel does the honors Thursday for a pair of Magellanic penguins. The two guests flew in from Florida’s Sea World to tour Montreal area schools to promote conservation
