“Two reasons we don’t trust people: 1. We don’t know them, 2. We know them” is a jocular saying that has been printed on many images. This saying—by an anonymous author—was published in a Texas newspaper in February 1945:
 
“Most of us don’t trust people for two reasons: First, because we don’t know them; second, because we do.”
