“We were so poor when I was young, when we went to KFC we had to lick other people’s fingers”

KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) has the slogan “finger lickin’ good.” ““We were so poor we used to get CARE packages from India. On Sundays, my dad used to load us up in the car and drive to Colonel Sanders’ just so we could lick other people’s fingers,” said by Ace Hanson, was printed in the St. Cloud (MN) Times on March 19, 1984. “So-o-o poor, ‘they had to go down to Kentucky Fried Chicken and lick other people’s fingers’” was printed in The State Journal-Register (Springfield, IL) on August 12, 1986.

The KFC joke has remained popular.
