“We’ll sell you the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge” (Texas Thunder Speedway)

“We’ll sell you the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge!” The Texas Thunder Speedway in Killeen promises edge-of-your-seat action with this (non-trademarked) slogan.

Many other tracks all across the country have used a similar or identical slogan. The National Hot Rod Association in California trademarked a similar slogan from 2000. “We’ll sell you the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge” is cited in print in the Gettysburg (PA) Times in April 1993.

One other variation is, “We’ll sell you the whole seat so you can STAND ON IT!”

A few years back, Texas Thunder Speedway started using an advertising slogan that says. “We’ll sell you the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge.”

During Saturday night’s IMCA Modified feature race, that’s where the fans were – on the edge of their seats – the ones that weren’t standing up and screaming, anyway.
