“What did my parents do before the Internet?” (joke)

What did people do before the Internet? A joke was cited on Twitter on March 14, 2012:

“I wonder what our parents did for entertainment before mass TV/internet/video games? My 38 brothers and sisters don’t know either…”

The high number of siblings in the joke can vary, but that number points to the answer.

When I asked my parents what they did before the internet, they wouldn’t tell me. My 7 brothers and sisters wouldn’t either.

I was wondering what my parents used to do before the internet. None of my 13 brothers and sisters could tell me.
