“What do you call an Italian search engine?”/“Bada Bing.”

“Bada bing” is slang that was used in the film The Godfather (1972) and the American crime drama television series The Sopranos. Both entertainments involved Italian-American gangster characters.

The Bing search engine was introduced in 2009. “Microsofts new ‘Bada-Bing’ search engine sounds like a winner! Tony Soprano says use it” was posted on Twitter on May 25, 2009. “Bada-bing = a crap Italian search engine” was posted on Twitter on January 3, 2013.

A riddle was posted on Reddit—Jokes on January 15, 2018:

Q: What do you call an Italian search engine?
A: Badda Bing.

Wikipedia: Bing
Bing is a web search engine owned and operated by Microsoft. The service has its origins in Microsoft’s previous search engines: MSN Search, Windows Live Search and later Live Search. Bing provides a variety of search services, including web, video, image and map search products. It is developed using ASP.NET.

Wikipedia: Bada Bing
Bada Bing! is a fictional strip club from the HBO drama television series The Sopranos. It was a key location for events in the series, named for the catchphrase “bada bing”, a phrase popularized by James Caan’s character Sonny Corleone in The Godfather. The popularization of the fictional club benefited the real-life go-go bar where scenes were filmed. The Bada Bing is loosely based on Wiggles, a strip club owned by New Jersey mobster Vincent Palermo before it was shut down.
