“What’s something a drug dealer would never ask?”/“‘Is Pepsi okay?’”

Many diners ask for “coke” when they want a soda. If the establishment has Pepsi cola instead of Coca-Cola, a server usually asks, “Is Pepsi okay (as a substitute drink)?” Pepsi made a 2019 television ad on the ‘Is Pepsi OK?” question. (“No Coke, Pepsi” was also in a 1978 Saturday Night Live sketch.)

“Coke” can be confused with “cocaine.” “I don’t mind when a waitress says, ‘Is Pepsi fine?’ when I ask for some coke, but when my drug dealer says it, it’s kind of annoying” was posted on Twitter by Steve Dutzy on June 5, 2011. “‘Is Pepsi OK?’ - World’s worst drug dealer” was posted on Twitter by D.N. Schmidt Books on July 28, 2011.

A riddle was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes on February 23, 2021:

Q: What’s something a drug dealer would never ask?
A: “Is Pepsi okay?”

“I feel bad that nobody’s checking up on Coca Cola’s well-being. Everyone asks if Pepsi is okay” is a related joke.

Wikipedia: Pepsi
Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. Originally created and developed in 1893 by Caleb Bradham and introduced as Brad’s Drink, it was renamed as Pepsi-Cola in 1898, and then shortened to Pepsi in 1961.

If you were a drug dealer and someone asked you if you brought the coke, it’d be really funny to ask “is Pepsi okay”
