“Syruptitiously” is a portmanteau of the words “syrup” and “surreptitiously.” “Pass the Log Cabin, said Tom syruptitiously” is a Tom Swifty that was posted on the newsgroup rec.humor on June 19, 1990. ““How do you eat those fattening pancakes?”/“Syruptitiously” was printed in the Wall Street Journal (New York, NY) on April 14, 1994.
