The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic resulted in some vaccine mandates, where people were required to show proof of vaccination (sometimes on paper and sometimes on a smart phone). It reminded many people of the “Show me your papers!” restrictions of Nazi Germany in the 1930s and 1940s, when a yellow star on the outside of clothing was used to identify Jews.
 
A riddle was posted on Twitter by Dr. Simone Gold (of America’s Frontline Doctors) on August 9, 2021:
